Anyone have an opinion on April's best CD? I have only heard "Inside Out" from The Mercy Project but it has compelled me to want to buy more of her stuff.
Amy from Tampa
This CD is one of the best I have purchased in the past year. While April McLean reminds me of some of my other favorite artists (Jonatha Brooke and Shawn Colvin, specifically), she has her own style and I hope she is recognized for her enormous talent immediately! She deserves to be widely known. Her music is GORGEOUS. I also await the next CD breathlessly!
Has anyone been able to find a copy of "Inside Out" as an accompaniment cd? I'm looking for it and can't find it so far. Thank you.
I have some of her earlier songs as well on a tape that I treasure. I went to music school with her at Shenandoah Conservatory (before she went to Berklee College of Music) and she was just amazing. She is the person who inspired me to write music and I believe she is one of the most gifted songwriters out there. I really hope to her more of her music in the future.
I used to listen to April every wednesday morning as I went to school hockey team practice. I think I looked forward to listening to her more then I did practice. A good family friend is a friend of April's family. He would drive me to practice and play her tape. I have always enjoyed April's voice and her talent. I no longer have any of her early work (as I have lost the tape). I hope that someday she will release some of them to a cd. One of my favorite ones is 'To Be A Rock'. For those interested in any of her old work look to see what you can find and let me know. Thanks. PS: thanks for the memories, April
does anyone know if April will be performing anywhere in the near future?
the site is very good
april, my wife and I were driving in the car and we heard this song on the radio about a "taxi ride". I said wow - that's April McLean, she's on the radio. Having just bought 'Becoming', I said ... I don't remember that song on the CD. I was all excited and happy for you and your new hit song, then I heard the dj say that it was Tori Amos with her song Taxi Ride. I think I read somewhere on your website that you are a fan of Tori Amos (an artist I was not very familiar with) - so I hope this comes as a compliment. But in my novice opinion, you both sound very similiar. I mean, I was convinced it was you.
dear april & todd, it was really great to meet you guys in nyc with gary the other night. your set was incredible. wonderful voice, outstanding lyrics, all around great song construction & delivery. thank you for your cd (becoming) i just love it. i had it in my car & the next morning when my wife drove car pool it was on. she asked me who it was, she also loved it. your songs, your voice, your sound, has a way of touching one's soul. please let me know when you will be playing in the nyc area. best regards, irwin
Cool website! I heard one of your songs on a Felicity re-run and had to find out who was singing! Well, about an hour on the internet brought me here! Now I'm just frustrated that I can't seem to find a copy of the CD anywhere! Not even on ebay! (Or B&N, or Amazon or Tower.........or even CD Baby.) I'm sure I'm not the only one who would love to have it. Anyway to get it?
I am also looking for an accompaniment track for "Inside Out" to sing at our Womens Retreat.
Can someone tell me if it's possible to get an accompaniment track for "Inside Out". As for people asking how to get it, and about the chords, Mercy Project is the name of the CD and there is also a music book. Problem is, I don't play keyboard.

With a concert in NY scheduled for Aug 3rd - why not travel a couple of hours further North and do a concert in your old stompin grounds? You could book Paradise or Axis or Avalon or the Orpheum???? Yeah!!!
How can I get a copy of "Inside Out"? Thanks!
Is there any way I can get the chords for "Inside Out"? I'm a fairly new keyboard player, and want to learn this song so that I can sing and play it.
Loved your song on the Mercy Project. I'd really like to buy your CD, but CD Baby hasn't had it for awhile. Any other idea how I can get my paws on one?
This cd brings out the meanings of life. "Becoming", is one of the greatest cd's i've ever heard. April Mclean has a unique perspective in her songs, that brings out the reallity of this world. Everyone can enjoy this cd!
This is the most awesome website I have ever seen! Very cool! ^_^
I saw April McLean on May 18, 2002 at Barley's in Knoxville's Old City. Another band was scheduled to play that night, but April took their place. I am so glad she did! I never had the opportunity to hear April's music before. Hearing April sing was like finding an unexpected gift! I immediately connected with her music. Her lyrics touched my heart. The songs "All Along" and "Becoming" brought tears to my eyes. That's when I knew I had to buy April's CD. And what a CD! It is difficult to decide which song is my favorite. April sings like an angel and she plays the piano beautifully. The band accompanying her was superb. April is enormously talented and blessed. I can see a Grammy Award in April's future; she's that good!
the website is beautiful - very artistically interesting and well-done. the information about your music, your life, and your shows is all so nicely showcased here. i can't wait to buy the cd and experience the audio equivalent.
